In this era of high mobility, we are often faced with work anytime and anywhere to work flexibly. And one of them, is the latest ZenBook series laptop from Asus, namely ASUS ZenBook 14 (UX425) which just officially launched.

How is the complete review? follow the explanation below

Premium and Tough Design

Speaking of design, our first impression when we saw this laptop was that it had a luxurious appearance with a distinctive spun-metal finish design. Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 comes with a body that is quite thin but very sturdy which is equipped with Military grade quality standards, starting from functional tests at an altitude of more than 15,000 feet, drop tests from a height of 100 mm while alive and tested at every angle of fall, up to operational tests in low temperatures of -33 degrees Celsius.

Its body thickness is less than 2 centimeters, or rather only 1.39 cm, making this laptop not take up much space when put in a bag. Moreover, its light weight is only 1.13 kg which is very supportive for activities with high mobility. This is because the Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) uses an aluminum alloy body which is formed with a very precise diamond-cut design, making the body look more luxurious and has a strong premium impression.

To increase comfort during prolonged typing, ZenBook 14 (UX425) still carries the same design as the previous generation, namely Ergolift Design. ErgoLift is a feature that makes the main body lift and form a three-degree angle when it is in use. This position makes the typing position more ergonomic, while improving cooling performance due to the extra air cavity that exits the raised main body position. Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 comes in two color choices, namely, Pine Gray, and Lilac Mist.

The screen size of the ZenBook 14 (UX425) has a screen size of 14 inches, a Full HD IPS panel type (1980 x 1080) which is equipped with Nano Edge Display technology. That is, even though this laptop has a size of 14 inches, it has a very compact shape with the dimensions of a 13-inch laptop in general. We can also see this in the area around the screen, which makes the screen bezel appear very thin with a screen-to-body ratio of up to 90%.

Apart from the use of power-efficient processors from Intel, the latest panel technology is one of the reasons why ZenBook 14 (UX425) can have such a long battery life. ZenBook 14 (UX425) uses the latest 1W panel. This panel technology has a very low power consumption, it can even increase battery life by up to 37.5% when compared to using a standard panel. Even though it uses a 1W panel, the display quality is still considered by ASUS. ZenBook 14 (UX425) comes with a screen capable of having a color reproduction rate of up to 100% in the sRGB color space.

At the top of the screen ZenBook 14 UX425 is back equipped with 3D IR HD Camera that supports Windows Hello features in Windows 10 as Face Recognition Login. Thanks to this camera, users can enter the system without having to bother typing in a password, just let the camera scan the face area and then automatically be given access to enter the system that can detects faces even in low light.

Complete Connectivity and I / 0 Port

Even though it is thin, we are quite amazed by this laptop because it is equipped with very complete connectivity. Starting from Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and an RJ 45 adapter that is already available in the sales package. On the right, there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port and a Micro SD card reader. While on the left side, there is an HDMI port, 2 USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt ™ 3 which already supports display output up to 4K and power delivery. Interestingly, because it supports the power delivery feature, this latest ZenBook laptop can charge with a power bank, of course, with the minimum required power standard.

Keyboard and NumberPad 2.0

For the keyboard area, Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) features an “Edge to Edge Keyboard” design. Where in appearance this laptop keyboard really maximizes the space from the right and left edges. If you look closely, the size of the keyboard keys is made a little bigger. As a result, when we tried typing, the reach felt more comfortable. Moreover, already has a traveling distance of 1.4mm which is the ideal distance for typing.

Another benefit that we can find in this keyboard design, namely, there are several shortcut keys such as the home button, page up, page down and end which are located in the right corner of the keyboard. In addition, with the LED backlit feature, users can still type in low light conditions.

As for the touchpad area, it is equipped with the NumberPad 2.0 feature. Actually, this feature is familiar which we can also find in other Asus laptop series. The difference is that the NumberPad 2.0 supports multi-function use, namely, the touchpad and numpad can now be used simultaneously. The interesting thing about NumberPad 2.0 is that there is a feature that functions as a shortcut to bring up the calculator on the screen. The trick to bring it up, just touch on the icon located at the top left by sliding it to the middle, and the calculator immediately appears on the screen. For users who have jobs or counting questions, the presence of this feature will be very helpful in making work easier.

ASUS also complements the audio business Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) is Harman Kardon certified which makes the experience of watching or listening to music on this laptop more enjoyable.

Apart from that, with the The Link to MyASUS application on this laptop allows users to connect a laptop with a smartphone which creates an integrated experience. If it is connected and appears on the screen, users can enjoy all the functions on the smartphone via a computer mouse and keyboard.

Meanwhile, to support its performance, Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) This is equipped with a 10th generation Intel Core i7 processor (ice lake) which has a configuration of up to 4 cores and 8 threads, a base clock speed of 1.3 GHz, and a boost clock speed of up to 3.9GHz. From this configuration in our opinion it is very suitable for use on this laptop because it is still quite fast and not wasteful of power. Interestingly, the 10th generation Intel processor it is easy to adapt to the activities of its users. Bringing the advantages of built-in Artificial Intelligence, 10th generation Intel processors very reliable to get things done more quickly and smoothly.

Accompanying the processor, the Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 is also equipped with storage in the form of a 512GB NVMe PCIe 3.0 x2 SSD. which is very reliable. We think that this SSD Solution offers a much higher transfer rate than hard disk drives and also a much more efficient power consumption. For memory, ZenBook 14 UX425 relies on the latest LPDDR4X RAM module with a capacity of up to 16GB. Memory capacity that is more spacious and faster than the LPDDR4X makes this laptop more agile for multitasking use

Over at the graphics card, Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) powered by an integrated GPU Intel Iris Plus Graphics. Unlike the GPU Intel HD Graphics, Intel Iris Plus Graphics has a higher performance. Even so, the Intel Iris Plus GPU still comes with a very low power consumption. This GPU is one of the reasons why ZenBook 14 (UX425) is able to have a relatively long battery life. Other than that, performance the graphics are sufficient for daily computing and casual gaming.

With the presence of Microsoft Office Pre-Installed on this laptop, users no longer need to install other office applications or even use pirated applications because ZenBook 14 UX425 already has the original Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 application and can be used forever.

Strong Battery Life

In our opinion, this one thing should not be missed, laptops to support high mobility must be supported by a durable battery. Because laptops will always be taken on the go to maximize work, ideally a laptop with a battery life of 6 to 10 hours is actually quite sufficient.

For durability, the latest Zenbook 14 is equipped with a larger battery capacity when compared to the previous generation, namely ZenBook 14 (UX433). This time ZenBook 14 (UX425) uses a battery with a capacity of 67 Whr, which makes this laptop claimed to last up to 22 hours.

SOverall, we think the ASUS ZenBook 14 (UX425) is perfect for those of you who need a laptop that is thin and light, has a premium design and has excellent performance to stay productive indoors and outdoors. Especially with a battery capacity that lasts longer than the previous generation, you can make it even more productive with this laptop without having to worry about running out of power.
