“Today we are excited to introduce the Exynos 2100, our most advanced mobile processor to date. Equipped with powerful processing technology and a sophisticated 5G modem at the power-efficient 5nm process node.

“The Exynos 2100 will set a new standard for flagship mobile devices in the future.”

“At Samsung Electronics, we dedicate ourselves to delivering innovative technology and services through our flagship devices to provide the best mobile experience for our customers,” said Kyeongjun Kim, Executive Vice President and head of the Mobile R&D Office at Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

“With powerful processing, fast 5G connections, and intelligent AI-acceleration, the Exynos 2100 offers performance that meets the stringent quality standards and requirements of our next-generation smartphone.”

“The evolution of technologies such as 5G, advanced graphics, and machine learning, has become essential to deliver new mobile experiences,” said Paul Williamson, Vice President and General Manager, Client Line of Business at Arm.

“Arm and Samsung have collaborated intensely to combine Arm's next-generation compute and graphics platform, at the heart of Samsung's Exynos 2100.

“As a result of our partnership, we were able to maximize performance and make these experiences possible on next-generation mobile devices while still delivering great battery-life.”

The computing and graphics performance of the chip has been enhanced and refined to exceed the performance expectations of power users.

As Samsung's first integrated 5G flagship mobile processor, the Exynos 2100 is made with the advanced 5nm EUV process technology, which can save power consumption by up to 20% or 10% higher performance compared to its predecessor, 7nm.

For further enhancements, the chip also offers improved cache memory utilization and a better scheduler.

The octa-core CPU comes with an improved tri-cluster structure built from the powerful single-core Arm Cortex-X1 that can process at speeds up to 2.9GHz.

There are three high-performance Cortex-A78 cores, as well as four power-efficient Cortex-A55s resulting in a more than 30% increase in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor.

Arm Mali-G78, which supports the latest APIs such as Vulkan and OpenCL, increases graphics performance by more than 40% to provide stunning and seamless images, providing immersive mobile on-screen experiences, including gaming, and AR / VR or MR ( Mixed Reality).

The Exynos 2100 also integrates advanced multi-IP governor (AMIGO) technology, which monitors and optimizes power usage on the CPU, GPU and other processes, providing longer usage times even in intense on-screen activities.

With comprehensive efforts to improve the energy efficiency of each product for each hardware and software technology, Samsung continues its efforts to minimize the carbon footprint for mobile devices in the future.

AI capabilities have also been significantly improved with the Exynos 2100. The new design of the tri-core NPU has architectural enhancements such as minimizing unnecessary processes for effective utilization and support for feature-map and weight compression.

The Exynos 2100 can run up to 26 trillion-operations-per-second (TOPS) with twice the power efficiency of the previous generation.

With on-device AI processing and support for advanced neural networks, users can enjoy smarter and more interactive features, as well as improvements to computer vision performance in applications such as imaging.

The Exynos 2100's advanced image signal processor (ISP) supports camera resolutions of up to 200-megapixels (Mp.) This ISP can also connect (up to) six individual sensors and is capable of processing four simultaneously for a richer multi-camera experience. .

With a multi-camera and frame processor (MCFP), the ISP can combine feeds from multiple cameras to increase zoom performance, improve image quality for ultra-wide shots, and much more.

With AI Acceleration, ISPs can provide content-aware features that can quickly and seamlessly recognize locations, faces, and objects and adjust camera settings optimally to capture images with better detail.

The integrated 5G modem from Exynos 2100 supports 5G with sub-6Ghz and mmWave frequencies from 2G, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE, for strong and reliable network coverage.

The modem can provide a maximum download speed of up to 5.1- gigabits per second (Gbps) over sub-6GHz and 7.35Gbps over mmWave frequencies, or up to 3.0Gbps over 4G networks with support for 1024 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM).

Exynos 2100 is currently being mass produced.
